Overwhelmed by onmicrosoft.com SPAM EMAILS

How do I block onmicrosoft.com SPAM EMAILS? I am getting relentlessly spammed and cannot seem to block these emails. This is a serious problem because about every third or forth email is this onmicrosoft.com SPAM EMAIL. I like office 365 but this is ridiculous!!!

    Thanks for acknowledging Jim. Another observation I forgot to mention in my comment was that I've noticed that many of the phishing e-mails refer to a URL hosted by 'storage.googleapis.com'. A little research indicates that this appears to be a legitimate site hosted by Google! However, like Microsoft, Google appears to have allowed these disreputable people to misuse this service, presumably for storing some probably malicious code, 'malware' of some form or other. I'm also reporting them to Google as 'abuse'.

    The key takeaway is, I strongly urge anyone who receives these e-mails NOT TO click on any of the URLs as that would probably at least alert the hackers that an 'active' e-mail address has responded and, at worst, infect your device with some form of malware.

    Very Helpful, thank you Michael. I was wondering WHY these domains even exist, so now I have a better understanding. I'm sure I'm not the only one plagued by these annoying emails, and would like to see Microsoft do a better job of managing them.

    I've taken your advice @Tigermann and sent an e-mail to c d o c c m @ m i c r o s o f t . c o m.

    It contained a screenshot of the latest phishing example plus the internet headers details.

    I also added a list of all the '.onmicrosoft.com' domains from which I've received similar phishing e-mails.

    I've noticed that of the 94 domain names, nearly all appear to be company names! (For example,

    'MercadoBentonTrading.onmicrosoft.com'.) I did a little research and they may well be names used by legitimate users but have somehow been hijacked by hackers.

    This link, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/setup/add-or-replace-your-onmicrosoftcom-domain?view=o365-worldwide, explains for what these domains might be used. They appear to be what Microsoft term 'fallback domains' for Office 365 small business users. At any rate, it would appear that these socalled 'fallback domains' are vulnerable to hacking! You'd think Microsoft would be able to seal this breach!

    I just wanted to say, that for some reason (maybe a fix by micosoft of my local cooperative's server?) the onmicrosoft spam has stopped. Maybe it'll come back, but it's a great relief for now!

    You may be right, Lynn. I haven't been bombarded for a few days. I'll update this when I'm more comfortable confirming it.
