    I've blocked OneDrive update server by adding the following line to /etc/hosts:

    0.0.0.0. oneclient.sfx.ms

    Now it works without removing Updaters. Hope it will work for some time while I'm considering alternatives...

    After rebooting, and starting OneApp again...you must repeat the initial steps:

    1. Go offline
    2. Add back/move the Updater files in the Contents folder within OneDrive.app
    3. Start OneDrive and remain offline
    4. Move/delete the Updater files from Contents folder within OneDrive.app
    5. Go online

    I know...it is a bit of a process, and definitely a hack, but if you aren't rebooting often, it isn't so bad.

    I know...it is a bit of a process, and definitely a hack, but if you aren't rebooting often, it isn't so bad. I'm still considering alternatives like Google services or just not using a cloud service for my backup and just use my external drive. Very frustrating. All this conversation in this thread and MS still hasn't chimed in. In fact, they'll likely ensure future versions can't be run at all using this hack. Ideally, I like to locate where in the code it does the check for Updater files and remove it.

    I let mine run all day and it didn't stop. It worked until I had to reboot and start OneDrive again. Keep in mind, OneDrive syncs very slowly. I know because I had a few large proejcts, many files, and it is taking so long to complete syncing. I don't know why...it used to be much faster with older versions. Maybe you thought it had stopped but it was just syncing slowly? Did it pop up an error message?
