Junk Emails Suddenly going to Inbox Feb 2023

Hi, I had my hotmail account for over 20 years and I never had an issue like this. As of this morning at 4am ALL of my junk emails are going to my inbox. No settings have been amended.

Since I've had this account for many years every 5 minutes I receive a junk in my inbox. Ive searched for a solution online but all I can see is for outlook and not outlook/hotmail 365. I've tried everything at this point, from rules to flagging wit no help. Has anyone experienced the same? Microsoft doesnt seem to have a customer service team to help?

Many thanks

@Microsoft, why do you not help your customers? This thread is now several months old. Why does it take so long to solve this problem? One hotmail account gets annoyingly many (20+) spam mails *per day*, whereas in another hotmail account, the spam filter is still working.

It would be most appreciated if someone of Microsoft would reach out to us.

I am not from Microsoft and I have the same problem since Feb 2023.

Every day I report a Fake Microsoft Email signaling that a Russian broke into my system.

This is not only ennoying but I wonder if Microsoft care about us.

Hey! Bill stop your garbage in Africa and take care of your old customers.

    Hi everyone,

Are you all still experiencing this issue? Has anyone had any response from Microsoft, or found a workaround?

Never heard from them but I worked out a work around that fixes it.

Right click the email (I think) go to more and check the message headers.

Put into a message header reader (google one) you just copy paste all the text into there. Find the sender email (my spam always had their email address hidden so couldn't create any rules).

Create a new rule that says if email header contains "email address" then "delete".

You can add several emails to the rule so you don't have to have several rules. And at least for me the spam came from the same 3 or 4 emails.

Now I virtually get no spam at all.

    Thanks
