Junk Emails Suddenly going to Inbox Feb 2023

Hi, I had my hotmail account for over 20 years and I never had an issue like this. As of this morning at 4am ALL of my junk emails are going to my inbox. No settings have been amended.

Since I've had this account for many years every 5 minutes I receive a junk in my inbox. Ive searched for a solution online but all I can see is for outlook and not outlook/hotmail 365. I've tried everything at this point, from rules to flagging wit no help. Has anyone experienced the same? Microsoft doesnt seem to have a customer service team to help?

Many thanks

All they told me to do was go to junk mail, uncheck the box "Only trust email from addresses in my safe senders and domains list," sign out of email, sign in again and recheck the box. Kind of the chick-fix equivalent of turning the computer off and then on again to see if a problem resolves itself.

It fixed it, but then I had the problem again this past summer. Just seems like Microsoft should be able to fix this.

Never heard from them but I worked out a work around that fixes it.

Right click the email (I think) go to more and check the message headers.

Put into a message header reader (google one) you just copy paste all the text into there. Find the sender email (my spam always had their email address hidden so couldn't create any rules).

Create a new rule that says if email header contains "email address" then "delete".

You can add several emails to the rule so you don't have to have several rules. And at least for me the spam came from the same 3 or 4 emails.

Now I virtually get no spam at all.

    Thanks

    Hi everyone,

Are you all still experiencing this issue? Has anyone had any response from Microsoft, or found a workaround?

I am not from Microsoft and I have the same problem since Feb 2023.

Every day I report a Fake Microsoft Email signaling that a Russian broke into my system.

This is not only ennoying but I wonder if Microsoft care about us.

Hey! Bill stop your garbage in Africa and take care of your old customers.
