Junk Emails Suddenly going to Inbox Feb 2023

Hi, I had my hotmail account for over 20 years and I never had an issue like this. As of this morning at 4am ALL of my junk emails are going to my inbox. No settings have been amended.

Since I've had this account for many years every 5 minutes I receive a junk in my inbox. Ive searched for a solution online but all I can see is for outlook and not outlook/hotmail 365. I've tried everything at this point, from rules to flagging wit no help. Has anyone experienced the same? Microsoft doesnt seem to have a customer service team to help?

Many thanks

I am experiencing the same issue and have just gotten off of the phone with Microsoft. The only solution that I was provided was to send an email with feedback on my issue and wait for a response, which is pathetic. I do recall this issue happening when Hotmail users were forced to switch to an outlook domain in order to log in, but can't recall how it was resolved. You would think that since this has happened in the past that Microsoft would keep this on their radar when doing future updates, but that would make too much sense.

I just did a tech support chat with Microsoft and they said this is a known, system-wide problem and their engineers are working to fix it.

Although the email looks to actually be coming from the Microsoft account support address, I believe they've been hacked. Log into your Hotmail/Outlook/Live account and follow the link to your activity from your profile page. You'll see that the email is a phishing attempt because you won't see that Russian activity there. Do not follow links from that email. I urge you to set up two factor authentication or use the Microsoft authenticator app to make your account completely passwordless. This makes it very near impossible for anyone to actually hack your account.
