Hi,

since a few days I have issues with Excel 365. Above the grid it mentions "COULDN'T REFRESH DATA TYPES We need to fix your account. Select Microsoft Excel from the top menu > Sign Out. Then Sign back in with an account associated with a subscription." I have followed the instructions by signing out and then in again however it didn't resolve the issue and it repeats. I have been using Office 365 for many years and just recently the problem started. Now I can't refresh the data. I have checked my subscription and there seems nothing wrong with it and is all updated. Kindly assist me with this issue.

hi, I can confirm I managed to have STOCKS continue to work after restarting Excel following a downgrade to 16.64. Let's see how long this workaround will work.

It only worked for about 15 minutes then stopped again.

    I have a PC / win 11/ office 365. Reverted to: Version 2210 (Build 15726.20202)

    Hi all,

I managed to narrow down steps to solve this issue until you quit Excel and reopen... but I cannot imagine doing this every time I reopen Excel - this is a ridiculous bug that has been causing issues for more than a month and Microsoft does absolutely nothing to fix it!!

    Steps below:

    1. Sign out of Excel
    2. Uninstall Excel
    3. Clear the following folders:
      1. ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Excel/Data/Library/Caches/
      2. ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Excel/Data/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/16.0/Wef/
    4. remove the following folders from your Mac under ~/Library/GroupContainers
      1. UBF8T346G9.ms
      2. UBF8T346G9.Office
      3. UBF8T346G9.OfficeOsfWebHost
    5. Download Excel and Sign in, Activate Licence

Once you restart Excel, it signs you out and downloads some privacy settings that are causing the issue.

Yes, and you can use an old build of Excel as described here:

    Data Types are not working.

My MacBook Air has this issue. But, the issue goes away if I use the web version Excel.
