Hi all,
sorry for my english it is not my native language.
The solution for this problem is:
- Create a GPO and also a registry entry RestrictDriverInstallationToAdministrators like descriptions https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5005010-restricting-installation-of-new-printer-drivers-after-applying-the-july-6-2021-updates-31b91c02-05bc-4ada-a7ea-183b129578a7
- Understand that an update like KB5005010 or KB5005030 on print server side requires an update on client side otherwise the settings from first point not working
- Here you find the necessary updates (40 rows) for all windows version particulary for your clients https://msrc.microsoft.com/update-guide/vulnerability/CVE-2021-36958 for example Windows Server 2008R2 or Windows 7 needs KB5005615, Windows 10 v2004 or newer KB5005565, Windows 10 v1909 KB5005566 and so on...
- The solution with registry entry "CopyFilePolicy" did not work for me, you find it here: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-fixes-remaining-windows-printnightmare-vulnerabilities/
- If you have Windows 7 or Windows 2008R2 you need an ESU license for KB5005615 wich you get from your Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center https://www.microsoft.com/Licensing/servicecenter/Default.aspx
For Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008R2 you need the following updates installed:
- KB4528069 need for working ESU license, https://hackandpwn.com/windows-7-esu-patching/
- KB5004378 without you get error "update the Windows Modules Installer on your computer" https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/30613/microsoft-windows-server-patches-not-installing-on.html
- KB5004951 needs ESU license
If you have no ESU license and you are installing KB5004951 everything seems to be fine. But after installing this update and restarting your device, you might receive the error, “Failure to configure Windows updates. Reverting Changes. Do not turn off your computer,” and the update might show as Failed in Update History. You find in windows event log error 0x80070661 as an reason

Thanks,
