Can I turn off the OneDrive "For You" section thats just started to appear

Welcome to Microsoft Community and appreciate your time taken for sharing detailed information. I understand that the problem is wanting to turn off the OneDrive "For You" section . If my understanding is wrong, please correct me in the reply. I am glad to offer you help on this issue.

In the onedrive client, you can follow the steps below:

1. Click the onedrive icon in the system tray to open its settings.
2. Click the Help and Settings icon in the onedrive popup.
3. Click on the "Settings" entry.
4. Uncheck (disable) the "Storage of the day" option on the "Settings" tab. Enabled (checked) by default.

5. Click OK to apply the changes.

Since this is a function developed by OneDrive itself, it cannot be canceled on the web page at present. We suggest that you can submit a report on file feedback and share your concerns about this issue. Your feedback will be heard by the Office team and we will consider improvement.

Thanks for the info, but alas i dont have that setting. But i will keep an eye out for it in due course. Again many thanks for your help.

The addition of "For You" was a horrible idea, at least in the way that it has been implemented. Who thought this was a good idea? This needs to be removed from the "My Files" page of OneDrive Online (web). It's taking up a huge chunk of valuable real estate. When I want to see "My Files", that doesn't mean I want to see "My Memories" or "For You". Please allow us to turn this off or move it to a link in the left pane so users can access it when they want - not every time they go to access their files.
