We could not copy the content to the Clipboard, it is in use by another application. You can still paste your content within this workbook but it will not be available in other applications.

I have found that "Runtime Broker" is locked in a "deadly embrace" with another "Runtime Broker" .

Deadlock (which is sometimes called the deadly embrace) is another crippling condition. It occurs when two or more programs are each waiting for the others to complete - or even just to produce a data value - before proceeding.

Best solution is Microsoft solve this many year hic-up; eliminating the "deadly embrace"

Instead, I use task Manager and find the closest "Runtime Broker" process to the "S"'s.

I delete this "Runtime Broker" and any child processes if it exists.

Check if problem went away. If not, repeat and delete the next (last ) "Runtime Broker" .

Worse reboot. It is gone.

Not professional;but works for my platform Win 10, MSA 360 and stuff.

I tracked error 10016. Through event deleted first several in Task Manager.

Eliminated Fast boot (That helped some). Used Task Manager to clean up "RunTime Broker".

Also, found different dates on modules with displaying properties and security entries of modules in user\public and user\my user id.

I made one copy of Outlook across system wide; using the duplicate copies of shortcups, and pins on task bar. I think multiple requests are made and left hanging.

Good crumbs in postings on MS Forum. I have not been specific as it has taken several months to get fairly stable. I saw best improvement in stopping Fast Boot; using Task Manager. I use parts of user entries on forum. Lewis and Clark finding the path to the ocean.Press on.

Pressing (Win + V) and then turning on the cloud clipboard seems to have fixed the issue for me. Win/Excel version below.

I was experiencing this issue while using Excel on a remote PC via RDC.

I have been using this setup for awhile without issue - recent update to excel or changing to the beta channel may have created the issue - i have been having a nightmare time with the digital licensing - the support here is simply not adequate - hour and hours wasted on the phone to MS support staffers over several months - ended up buying new licences!! Any who thats a diff story - Try the above if you havent - easy as pie...

Fingers crossed the issue doesnt arise again :)

This is a difficult task on a corporate managed laptop.

I run into this problem updating/loading a Power Query.

Any other workaround?
