I have M365 Family and a domain name not on GoDaddy

What DNS entries do I need make to get M365 Family to verify my domain? It looks like I would need a unique id for my instance, but I am unsure how to get it.

Thus, What DNS entries do I need make to get M365 Family to verify my non-godaddy domain?

    This worked for me just now. I get the domainconnect pop up as follows:

    1. Outlook.com's settings
    2. View all outlook settings
    3. Premium
    4. Features
    5. Under Personalised email address click Get started
    6. Click Get a domain
    7. Pop up browser window with GoDaddy logo appears - get your mxRecordValue from the URL

    I was interested to see if I could replace my Legacy G.Suite mail system with Microsoft's. Following all the steps worked with mail arriving in my outlook.com mailbox.

    However, only being able to use a single address is a huge limitation so I reverted to Google's. I need catchall messages and other aliases under the same domain. Why don't Microsoft do this properly?

    The site is different now in how to check for a godaddy domain. you cant see the url at all.

    UPDATE

    The update was about personalised email, not domain

    I received an M365 Update notice in November saying the feature would not be offered after Nov 2023 but existing use could continue. It didn’t say for how long. I am very disappointed as it was a key reason for me signing up for Family 365.

    I see your domain table is different for your registrar. It looks like name, TTL, type, value? I am not sure that you need the domain connect CNAME record, though, perhaps MS looks for it when it tries to set it.

    I am not sure what "IN" represents for your registrar.

    It looks like you have an extra "1" in your MX type record.

    Should you use an "@" for the blank name of your MX and TXT?

    I did get mine working with the help of my registrar. I just showed him what my throw away GoDaddy domain records were.

    As mentioned - to assign a personal domain using Microsoft 365 requires that the domain is registered with Godaddy. It just requires moving the domain from your current registrar to Godaddy and then it will get automatically configured using the steps in
