Even though I suspect phishing, is there a way to confirm a legitimate email was sent to me from Microsoft account team <no-reply@microsoft.com> about suspicious activity?
When you mouse over the "Review recent activity" button, what do you see?
I'm seeing this:
mailto:*** Email address is removed for privacy ***?&cc=*** Email address is removed for privacy ***,*** Email address is removed for privacy ***,*** Email address is removed for privacy ***,*** Email address is removed for privacy ***&subject=unusual sign-in activity&body=No it wasn't me
Why would this email go to the Junk folder?
Why would the links show that string of nonsense rather than a link to one's Microsoft profile?
Easily looks like a phishing scam.
EDIT: The thread is censoring the email addresses above. Well, none of them are Microsoft email addresses, so there's your red flag.
The main thing to keep in mind: if something is presented to your junk folder, Don't Reply to the email. EVER. If you want to check something out go to the actual website as you did now with these very real looking email for what appears to be from Microsoft.
Is this really legit?
Here's what I just got...which looks a heck of a lot like phishing to me...
