Is this legit?

If so, what should I look for and do?

I have also been getting these emails over the past 2 months in my junk folder. Changed my password several times and added two-step verification for an extra layer of protection. I have been suspicious it was a fake and never attempted to respond, or click any links in the message. However when I checked sign in activity recently there was an attempted login that apparently failed from Russia.

These are the details of the attempt to log into my account.

    Hi Mary Han -

Not trying to be impertinent here, but how can you say with such certainty that this is a 'legitimate Microsoft Account notification' when so many others (including myself) have received identical emails, only citing 'Moscow, Russia,' and no one has found any unusual activity in their accounts, certainly none from Russia or India?

Yep, the reply-to address looks legit, but the links in the e-mail do not. Also, if it was actually FROM Microsoft, it wouldn't go to the Junk folder.

Report it as phishing and don't click on any of the the links in the email.

I forward every one I get to Microsoft asking for verification but have never received a reply! I only get the standard acknowledgement email. Very unhelpful! So much for protecting its community.
