How to disable OneDrive "On this day" "Memories" whatever MS calls it now

I can't find any options in the settings for OneDrive to get it to stop sending me reminders of the past "On this day" or "Memories". Is it even possible to turn this feature off?

Update: I found in the actual OneDrive website an option under settings called "On this day memories are available" that is already disabled. What I'm experiencing now is not emails, but popups in the bottom right corner of my screen, so no emails but now these popup notifications that seem to be coming from the operating system.

    i'm having this issue as well, the email notifications are the only options that can be disabled on the onedrive webpage.

    there are no options anywhere else to disable the intrusive notifications.

    the suggestions that i've read so far are useless and doesn't work.

    people just need a simple boolean flag to turn off suggesting memories; you had to invest more time to code in those nonsense to begin with.

    i would be reviewing again end of this year and if it's not fixed, i'm moving off onedrive.

    one drive is not fit for purpose

    OneDrive is not a backup, it’s a cloud location of your data.

    The default installation of Office 365 and its OneDrive component uploads all the contents of the PC  \My Documents\ folders to OneDrive, (syncs) and there will be a OneDrive folder in File Explorer containing all the OneDrive content. And in Word etc the default Save location is set to OneDrive.

    Hello - I am having similar problems. Until a few days ago, when I opened a document it was a local document. Now it opens in oneDrive even though I'm logged out. I never use oneDrive and just want to be able to use the software as I always have but it seems it is forcing me to oneDrive. I now have to open an old document on my local/computer drive, delete the contents andn re-save it as a new document. This is very frustrating.

    I've just spent nearly two hours trying to fix my microsoft account via Microsoft Help.  E The techie gave me instructions that you need an IT degree to figure out.  I've reinstalled twice now but the same thing keeps happening - I am forced to oneDrive.

    I think it's fixed now. MS suggested, open Onedrive on your browser(If this is where your problem is). Choose Settings at top right, Then choose Options, then choose Photos from the left side. then select Hide for now. Mine is now gone!

    There's a work around also. Right click on each item showing at the top(Videos or pictures). On Brave browser, I then choose Brave, and from the pop up menu I choose Block element. It will then just be a blank rectangle.

    I went back and forth with MS. They suggested several things, which did not work. Finally they come up with a real fix. Hope this helps.
