How to disable OneDrive "On this day" "Memories" whatever MS calls it now

I can't find any options in the settings for OneDrive to get it to stop sending me reminders of the past "On this day" or "Memories". Is it even possible to turn this feature off?

Update: I found in the actual OneDrive website an option under settings called "On this day memories are available" that is already disabled. What I'm experiencing now is not emails, but popups in the bottom right corner of my screen, so no emails but now these popup notifications that seem to be coming from the operating system.

i'm having this issue as well, the email notifications are the only options that can be disabled on the onedrive webpage.

there are no options anywhere else to disable the intrusive notifications.

the suggestions that i've read so far are useless and doesn't work.

people just need a simple boolean flag to turn off suggesting memories; you had to invest more time to code in those nonsense to begin with.

i would be reviewing again end of this year and if it's not fixed, i'm moving off onedrive.

one drive is not fit for purpose

So much frustration. But there is help, please read:

1.) You can turn off "Your memories from this day." Go to OneDrive via your browser by going to https://onedrive.com and signing in. (This is just another way to see you OneDrive files, accessible from anywhere in the world with internet access and a computer.) In the upper right click the gear icon for Settings. Choose Options. Then choose Notifications. Uncheck the item for memories!

That will stop the emails. Yay!

2.) You were getting memories of pictures which you don't want to see. Even if you turn them off, this is not a good organization!

You can choose which folders are synced, which are only local and which are only in the cloud. Let's say you like getting the memories, but not the work or whatever pictures. You can segregate the pictures. Don't leave them all in one folder. This may take some time now because you didn't set up organization of folder previously. You can create a new folder (OtherPix in my example). It can be under Pictures, or as C:\OtherPix. Then TURN OFF SYNCING for that folder. Or folders. To do this:

    1. Right click the OneDrive cloud icon in your task bar at the lower right of your screen.
    2. Select the gear icon in the upper right for Settings.
    3. Choose Account tab.
    4. Click the Choose Folders button
    5. Expand the Documents folder and note the Pictures folder
    6. Expand the Pictures folder
    7. If you created the OtherPix folder under Pictures, UNCHECK it. Now that folder will not be synced. Make sure there are local copies of the pictures first.
    8. You can now go back to File Explorer and move any pictures you don't want to see in memories (if that was your preference) to the OtherPix folder. They won't be available for Memories to find.

They may appear to be deleted, but they are not. You moved them to a non-sync'd folder. Deleted from OneDrive. You can also save a copy to OneDrive and delete from your computer local storage. You have options here. You can create a folder as the only one OneDrive uses for Memories. Stop syncing all the others.

There are details to learn and I may not have given all you need. I hope I have given a hint. I do find it a problem that Microsoft has changed the way SkyDrive, OneDrive whatever works over the years. Maybe it will stay stable for a while.

What is your point. Of course OneDrive is a backup and hosts my backups. I am not interested in photos or games. I use it for data. It was sold to me as a work enabler and safety feature, not as entertainment. It does not (yet) start to play the music it thinks I like when I enter it. I have no doubt that at some time it will.
I want to see my tax documents, store installation for programs..not apps..which I may lose, so that I do not have to travel with CDs, view and work my spread sheets and work on documents with colleagues.
My pictures are on one drive because it gives me more space than my laptop. Who ever decided otherwise was way out over their skis.
Why would you even suggest something like that?

I thought I had shut off this feature a month ago...but then two days ago another unwanted "memory" popped on to my screen. Somehow the switch for shutting it off doesn't seem to work.
