MacOS: Microsoft Word not displaying pasted Microsoft Excel Worksheet Objects

I'm running Word version 16.56 and Microsoft Excel Worksheet Objects is not displaying at all either in old .docx files which contained them or when I try to paste it into new files it simply beachballs. FWIW I am running Excel version 16.54.

Is this a known bug?

I chose the 'Current channel (preview)' box and then checked the update automatically boxes and it automatically updated to the 16.57 version of Word. That solved the problem with the embedded excel table.

    Yes 16.57 (22010502) from the preview channel has a fix for it.

    ps. I was on another Mac also running 16.58 (2122702) from the beta channel. That still had this bug but after updating to 16.58 (22010406) from the beta channel it was solved too.

    THIS REALLY WORKS!!!!

    It seems you have to uninstall Office before you install Office. 

    Alternatively, You can revert to the previous version of only Word .

    1. To prevent the rolled back updates from being automatically updated, choose Help at the top of the screen > Check for Updates > Turn off "Automatically keep Microsoft apps up to date"
    2. Close all Office apps.
    3. Open  [ Finder ], [ Applications ] and Put the " Microsoft Word " app to the Trash.
    4. Open [Library] by selecting [Go] from the menu, enter ~/Library/, and move the following files in [ Containers ] to the Trash.

    Microsoft Word (for macOS 10.15 or later)

    com.microsoft.Word ( before macOS 10.15 )

    5.  Move the following files in [Library]-[ Group Containers ] to the Trash.

    UBF8T346G9.ms

    UBF8T346G9. Office

    UBF8T346G9. OfficeOsfWebHost

    1. From the Dock, put the Word app to the Trash.

    7.  Download and install  < Word 16.55 **** > from the update history of Office for mac .

    1. Start Word and see if the problem goes away.

    * If you check the following pages, it will be easier to grasp the image.

    · Office For uninstall the Mac (microsoft.com)

    Note: Word may initially start up stating that you have read-only access to documents. Log in to your Microsoft Office account using your username and password, then activate Word. Full functions should then be available.

    Note: Your recent histories in other Office application may have been removed
