MacOS: Microsoft Word not displaying pasted Microsoft Excel Worksheet Objects

I'm running Word version 16.56 and Microsoft Excel Worksheet Objects is not displaying at all either in old .docx files which contained them or when I try to paste it into new files it simply beachballs. FWIW I am running Excel version 16.54.

Is this a known bug?

I chose the 'Current channel (preview)' box and then checked the update automatically boxes and it automatically updated to the 16.57 version of Word. That solved the problem with the embedded excel table.

    Hello,

    Yes I too am having this problem in my business.

    It means that I cannot so easily supply a quote (its a requirement of my regulator) in printed form.

    I tried to downgrade to 16.55 but that does not seem to work. The package downloaded OK and installed OK but it stayed at 16.56. At first I thought it but the auto update immediately upgraded. I turned the auto upgrade off and tried again but it is still showing 16.56.

    I downloaded just the Word element. Do I have to download the whole of the Office package 16.55?

    If anyone has had a similar experience and knows and answer I would be very grateful. Microsoft do have any thoughts on this downgrade issue which sounds great but I cannot seem to get it to work. I am using Monterey current edition (12.1).

    I have the same issue with Word for Mac 16.56 (21121100). The problem continues in Safe Mode. The files work fine with Word Office 365 in Windows. Any suggestions how to resolve?

    This problem occurred all of a sudden. I use this function quite frequently. I suspect it is a bug in this version of Word for Mac, as it worked fine a couple of weeks ago.
