For OneDrive home and business, I cannot disable Files-On-Demand since the last update. This is crucial, I need full access to my files at all time.
What is going on? Why would you enforce Files On-Demand on your customers, isn't it enough to enable it by default? My 70GB of cloud data is not local anymore, sometimes I have no internet, you are locking me away from my files. Also making it impossible for me to do full text searches. Files On-Demand is also too slow, waiting a second to display folder contents is too much when you organize things in deep folder structures.
How I can disable Files On-Demand? Will you please stop knowing the best for your customers? We aren't toddlers. Thanks!
If Files On-Demand is enforced by policy, I will leave your cloud service once and for all.

Same here. I have 1 Tb business plan and woke up this morning to find all my files were deleted. This is Microsoft at its worst. If this is not fixed soon, I am going to another syncing service.
Total nonsense. Obviously, no-one at Microsoft understands that we are not all interested in a cloud-based solution. I need my files on my hard drive, not three steps away on a remote server.

If you click on "√ Productivity Tools" in any of the more expensive plans it says:
"Offline Folders: Stay productive and access entire folders even when there is no internet connection."
They decided to remove the ability to disable Files On-Demand for the lowest tier to force us to upgrade. I really have to keep myself strongly together to not swear right now.
They should've warned us months before at least with a message within the app. This really pisses me off, because I think their greed will cause it to stay that way, unless someone in the management is smart to understand that this is a good way to lose customers.
Well, I was planning to upgrade once I reach the 100GB limit for 100 Euros per year. Now I will find another cloud service and pay my bill there. Nice job, Microsoft. I doubt I can trust them to carry my files on my system properly anymore.
Nope, have 1tb on business, same problem since yesterday. Local fiels deleted and replaced by link to hidden directory with nothing in it. But I have several licenses and several users on my mac. Also a family and ms does handle that badly. If I install office from business it still says I'm on my family license. Wil delete everything and install business to see if I have KEEP FILES ON MY MAC. Otherwise exit MS. I'm self employed and this is costing me money. Which m** thought of this?

I need to be able to turn off files on demand ACTUALLY. I keep all my documents on two OneDrive accounts. I need to access these files from my home computer, work computer and mobile computer.
I purchased a 2TB hard drive just so I could keep all this data on my computer.
I selected all my files and selected "Always keep on this device." This actually means next time you select that file then it will be downloaded and ONLY THEN kept on that SINGLE device. I have TEN years of files both personal and work.
Right now I am out of the country on my laptop and a very shaky dsl connection.
Right now I am downloading what I think I will need. Later when I have to use my phone as a hotspot, I don't want to be download some costly data.
This needs to change.
