Word (Mac) Zoom issues

Hi, I´m working in Microsoft Office 365 for Mac. When zooming in on my trackpad the view jumps to a random page while the curser stays where I was trying to zoom in. I've tried reinstalling Word and have done all updates available.

Any suggestions?

    I have the same issue with my Macbook Pro (16-inch, 2019, intel i7, Big Sur 11.6).

    MS Word version 16.58 (Office 365).

    It's really annoying especially when working on over 100+ pages, large documents! Please fix the issue ASAP.

    Hi George,

    I'm also having the same problem and I'm not sure how to fix it. I have the M1 chip, with the I'm assuming the latest word and its still doing the same thing everytime i zoom in

    As multiple users are reporting the similar issue in the community. In order to track the progress of this issue better, we are setting this thread as a Primary threads. If you are having the similar issues on your side, please leave a message here and subscribe this thread for further info.

    Issue symptom:

    When using Zoom in function in Word for Mac, the direction won't respect where your cursor point at. Instead, it will jump to a random page.

    Environment:

    Word for Mac version 16.52 - 16.54

    macOS Big Sur 11.6

    macOS Catalina 10.15.6

    Possible workaround:

    Instead of using the scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in, please click on the +/- button to zoom in.

    Current Status:

    We are waiting for the further notifications from our related resources. If you are having the same issue, please use feedback function in Word for Mac to report this issue. Click on Help > I don't like Something > Add the issue description and tick on the attach log file option.

    Same problem, i just got my mac and it has been so annoying, according to other threads, this has been around since July and has not been fixed, it needs more attention !!!

    Hi,

    I have had this same issue for some time (multiple years). I am currently using a 16" MBP on Monterey, Word v16.54, but the same issue occurred using Big Sur and Catalina. It is very inconvenient when needing to zoom in on figures in a large multi page document. I can get around it by using the zoom slider, but a fix would be very welcome.
