16.0.13801.20182 is the problem - either upgrade to 16.0.13801.20288 or downgrade as I wrote below and have been working for 3 days without the error.
This has NOTHING to do with Windows updates.
This is caused by the "Office 16 Click-to-Run Licensing Component" and its latest update to version 16.0.13801.20182 or later.
Rolling back to version 16.0.13530.20528 (aka "Version 2012") will solve the problem.
See below I have been error free since the downgrade after 3/7/21
Wouldn’t worry about it - this is strictly related to the most recent Office update. Yes - it’s annoying to see in Reliability Monitor - but you can delete the event if it annoys you - my assumption is it’s a one off crash due to some poor programming in the update.
Don’t waste your time with the usual advice of online repair, uninstall, reinstall, SFC, DISM nonsense.
To anyone having this problem, i agree with previous comments that this must be a rogue update. I do not have Office 365 installed but i do have Office 2019 Professional Plus. This issue has only affected my system since the last update (Feb 2021).
It's extremely annoying that this generates a Critical Error in the Reliability Monitor as soon as i start up this machine. Please get this resolved ASAP Microsoft!
