OneDrive Save button and Folders grayed out on iPhone but other clouds are not

I just posted this as a comment to my article:

“Myself and people that have contacted Microsoft support are now receiving similarly worded responses that essentially say - we know, we took it off line so that we could work on stuff and we don’t know when we’ll be done.

It’s been weeks now and this is a shining example to every company, project manager and IT department in the world of the exact way NOT to do things. 

NO warning

NO communication 

NO ETA of outage time

ZERO care factor

...for a major and what seems a [at least somewhat] PLANNED outage effecting MILLIONS of people and businesses WORLDWIDE.

What repercussions are there? NONE. What can we do about it? NOTHING. Are there any laws against what they’re doing? NO. We are completely at the mercy of this god. 

Should we go through the pain and additional cost of moving to a different supplier? Why? They’re all as bad as each other and Microsoft have an absolute strangle hold on the market with Office.

Has there been any further updates from your developers? As you can see when I first wrote this question it has greatly affected millions of people and businesses around the world. 

Surely there is a  fix, a work around or amendments that can be made to the current version of OneDrive for iOS that can have the same functionality as  Apple Files app without having to use the Files app. Especially if it is security authetication issues between the apps, maybe a silly suggestion as I am no guru but why not cut out the root problem and develop and upgrade your own app to do exactly or better of what the problem app can do? No integration and working completely out of the one app. Problem solved then.

Have been given the same answers as you every time.  This was the latest two days ago.

I do not think they get that every mobile business especially tradesman do not roam around with a cellular laptop or desktop in their car and are completely reliant on a small mobile devices to complete their work and digital paperwork.

They need to give us something that keeps our people working and mobile.

I suspect that they get it, they just don't care. They're so big and there's no one to hold them accountable, no ramifications or repercussions and they know they have us over a barrel. Are you or anyone else going to stop using Office and got to an alternative and pay another company for cloud based storage? Especially when the bog company(s) that you've moved to could do the same thing next month?

I hate saying it but we are completely at their mercy and like mosquitoes biting a hippo.

Microsoft have released an update of the OneDrive app. After install (via the AppStore, of course) you will need to ensure the app is closed then go to iOS Settings -> OneDrive and toggle on Clear Account Settings. Then start the OneDrive app and login (the Clear Account Settings switch automatically turns off). 

You should then find that we can once again write to OneDrive via iOS integrated file processes. I have verified this as working for me and I hope to read your confirmation soon, too. 

I might be dreaming but it’s a nice dream to think that maybe, just maybe, our combined efforts influenced a god (I very much doubt it but, like I said, it’s a nice dream).
