Cursor jumps to the end of the document when deleting a line in Word and have Track Changes enabled (Word for Windows)

I work with a document some others has created. In the document Enter has been jused quite many times to create/start a new line. When I use Backspace or Delete to remove the line and tie the sentencens together and then add a space between the sentences, then the cursor jumps all the way to the end of the document.

When a turn off Track Changes, then it does not happen. I would assume this to be an error/flaw i MS Word and wonder if it is a workaround for the issue or if it would be fixed. I need to have Track Changes enabled.

Use of full markup view is not good practice for editorial professionals working on complex texts. It makes it too easy to miss errors.

It's very important you let MS know as the more complaints. You can do this via File / Feedback. Or this app at the link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/how-do-you-report-an-issue-or-bug-a318252f-cc24-4e95-bec9-71bd2dbc379d

This is a flamethrower fix, Don’t do it. I tried it too—erasing years of tweaks which had made Word more useful for my specific purposes. But I’m sorry to tell you it does not work. I am still rebuilding my old workarounds, and still handicapped by the intermittent kick to the end of the document.

I have sent a message to ******@gatesnotes.com as follows. I have asked for a read receipt.

    Dear Mr Gates

We as the editing community across the globe and subscribers to MSWord 365 have been having endless problems with this since a recent update – there are literally hundreds of messages about this. Noone responds from your call centre and no one seems able or willing to fix it.

Please assist as a matter of urgency.

We are wasting so much time jumping backwards and forwards

Your swift attention to this problem would be highly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Jacqui

This is an infuriating new bug in Word, and requires a fix. When deleting a paragraph or paragraph marker while working in Track Changes, the cursor jumps to the end of the document. When I find my way back to the place I was jumped from, often a paragraph or more has disappeared—it's not gone, it is just invisible. This doesn't seem to be affected by where on the page the paragraph is.

It is the same in Simple Markup or All Markup. The only fix I've found is to close and reopen the document, but that takes time and my hours are seriously beginning to suffer. Please address this problem!
