Delete Microsoft Planner Labels

I created a new plan and it came with the Default 6 color Labels for tasks. I do not need that many. How do I delete the unwanted colors/options? I can only find information on editing labels or how to add them to a task.

    Wow, this is silly. Between the inability to create custom Progress levels and the inability to remove old labels, it's pretty pathetic.

    The label deletes itself when it's no longer being used - meaning when it's not assigned to any item on the board.

    If there's still on when you group by label, rename, erase the name and click enter and it should disappear.

    @primo S That doesn't work. As soon as the label is empty, it is renamed to the default color-name.

    The thread has been going on since 2021 and it's now 2023. Clearly, Microsoft does not want to change this. How sad.
