Apple mail keeps asking for outlook email password

My MS account is not set for two-factor authentication. I deleted my Outlook account in the Apple mail account and when I readded I noticed that sync permissions had changed, there were 4 instead of 5, with notes now not included. I also changed Outlook from downloading a month, which is the default to all emails and this caused a sync error if I opened too many folders at the same time. Then I added the Edge app and added my device. It still took time to download my many emails but all is ok now.

Although the situation has improved, iOS is still asking for my password to use with Apple mail occasionally, for example this morning. Is anyone else still experiencing a problem?

I also wanted to ask about any feedback on using Edge to log in to the web interface. I’m unsure how that would work as I thought that device identiers were masked from one appto another on iOS.

Yes im getting the same. 

i was getting prompted for tge password 3 or 4 times a day over Bout half a dozen accounts.

A few dats ago it stopped buy i had one request fir a password yesterday and ine today. So a lot better but still occasionally happening.

I’ve got two outlook email accounts on my iphone and  both are constantly requiring me to re-enter my password. Its only started happening over the last 3 days and becoming increasingly annoying. I know other people that are having the same issues, so I’m not sure if its something to do with the latest IOS update. I would be grateful if anyone has any information on how to ressolve this.

I have been experiencing a version this for the past 5 days.  Started after Updating phone to iOS 14.1.  Still happening after 14.2 installation.  The strange wrinkle I'm having is that it is happening on my iPhone and one of my iPads, but another iPad is NOT having the problem with Outlook/Hotmail sign in.  All 3 devices are running the most recent iOS or iPadOS.   BTW, I have no issues using my iMAC logging into live.com.    Strange wrinkle #2, and this seems like a MS issue: When I enter login credentials, Outlook dialog box says password is not valid.  It's the exact same (yes, I checked multiple times) password that allows me to successfully log on with the my iMac and the one iPad.
