Apple mail keeps asking for outlook email password

Hi,

I’ve got two outlook email accounts on my iphone and  both are constantly requiring me to re-enter my password. Its only started happening over the last 3 days and becoming increasingly annoying. I know other people that are having the same issues, so I’m not sure if its something to do with the latest IOS update. I would be grateful if anyone has any information on how to ressolve this.

    Thanks RositaKP, I appreciate your answer. I suspect your iPhone might have updated itself despite your settings. I have experienced that before.

    You will generally experience a more stable and secure iOS if you update to 14.2, but it will unfortunately not solve your mail issue.

    My best guess is that iOS 14 has introduced an OAuth interoperability issue between the Apple Mail App and the Microsoft outlook.com mail servers. It may take a while to solve.

    I will temporarily use the Outlook App until Apple/Microsoft get this issue sorted out. The Outlook App has notifications etc.

    Mine seems to have fixed itself, from around 10pm last night i wasnt being promoted for passwords.  None this morning so far, maybe a change has been made in the background?

    Reseting the network settings on Apple devices seems to fix this issue. Not looking foward to having to re-enter all the Wi-fi passwords I had saved in the future. Problem only appeared in iOS 14.x. Something needs fixing here!

    I haveny reset my network settings but removing my account from the  authenticator app and readding it seems to have resolved it for me

    Seems to have stopped so far without doing anything, haven’t had to do it this morning.  Something must have been broke server side.  All working now on both ipad and iphone but won’t hold my breath until a few days have elapsed.
