Apple mail keeps asking for outlook email password

Hi,

I’ve got two outlook email accounts on my iphone and  both are constantly requiring me to re-enter my password. Its only started happening over the last 3 days and becoming increasingly annoying. I know other people that are having the same issues, so I’m not sure if its something to do with the latest IOS update. I would be grateful if anyone has any information on how to ressolve this.

    So this is a problem on both Microsoft's and Apple's end (iOS14):

    • Microsoft's obsession to repeatedly ask for your password on the slightest change in your computer (this can be noticed as well when using their web access, where it will reset your password even if you farted)
    • Apple's introduction with MAC address randomization feature since iOS14 to improve privacy.

    So hypothesis: iOS14 changes your MAC address -> Microsoft asks for your password.

    I didn't tested it, but disabling 'private address' could fix this issue in 'Settings'. You might have to do this for every WIFI network you encounter..

    I would rather have Microsoft solution in the end and is much more needed. Just relax the password requirement for an outlook account, it is getting pretty neurotic.

    I have the same problem 2 outlook accounts constantly asking for pssswords!!!

    Mine does it regardless of whether im on Wifi or 4g. 

    It stopped dor a few days, but doing it again now.

    I’ve got several hotmail/outlook accounts on my apple devices and am being prompted to re enter passwords every few hours on one account or another.

    This is very annoying and has been going on for more than a week!

    Think that was probably just a coincidence. I've tried turning my wifi on and off on my phone and it has no effect on whether it asks for password or not.

    I think the likely issue is related to the reported microsoft authentication change / bug but what is causing it I'm not sure. Ive had it on a laptop, ipone and ipad at various times. All with hotmail accounts never with other accounts.
