Extending Office 365 subscription on new PC

I have purchased a laptop for my daughter which came with office 365 personal free for 1 year. She doesnt need this as gets its free at school. She has setup her own Microsoft account on it and i have also logged into it with my Microsoft account and then installed office which i thought would activate the year and add it to my existing subscription. At no point have we ever had the message to ‘activate office’. Her account just shows her school office and mine shows my office subscription with no date extension. How do i do this please its driving me bonkers!

    Do you have any what "Office 365 Solo" is?  Yes it is only sold in Japan.

     (ii)   Office 365 Personal, Office 365 University and Office 365 Solo. For use by you only.  

    Do you have any what "Office 365 Solo" is?  This is the first time I've seen it mentioned, anywhere

    The funny thing is, I have a copy of the putativly same document, with the same name and date, taken from a recent 365 activation and it does NOT mention "Solo" anywhere.

    It means the person who has purchased the licence, that who paid for the computer including the 'free subscription' which is not actually free it is included in the purchase price of the computer.

    The term you cited is referring to Office Personal after it has been activated. "Legally", only the person who activated Personal is supposed to use it. But it still does not say that who has to activate it.

    Rohn, Yes. I thought you would split hairs that is why I removed the post.  Actually, I thought you would rely on the bit where it says if you do not have a Microsoft Account stop and create a Microsoft Account, splitting hairs could mean a person could use a different account than used to sign into Windows!
