Stop dictate from turning off in Word 365

Is there any way that we can prevent dictate to turn off (or at least extend the time that it stays on) in Word 365? I'd really like for it not to stop listening while I'm thinking about what to say.

    Hello everyone,

    While it is not possible to leave the dictation on all the time, I've found a sort of a workaround that makes turning on the dictation all the time less painful.

    Apparently, there is a keyboard shortcut alt+` that turns the dictation on and off. I have been using this shortcut for a couple of days and it definitely better than having to press the icon with the mouse all the time.

    This is a  bad design feature. Often, a person needs to gather their thoughts before speaking. Okay for the automatic shut off of the microphone to be  the default position, but a user needs an option to override it.

    Please don't send a link for how to comment on Word features. There are enough comments here to let Microsoft know these needs to be fixed.

    I cannot believe why this issue has not been resolved. Nor are any of the reports on here answered.  The auto turn off after a short time renders the tool useless. Huge disappointment.

    It's terrible. I'm having the same problem. I'd like to write my book with this. Fat chance. It's beyond frustrating to undertaken all the voice training in Word only to discover that it switches off whenever you pause to think. Useless.

    Given this issue was brought up some time ago and therefore, there has been ample time for Microsoft to fix (or redesign) this feature, do we know if it has been rectified yet?

    I am also frustrated at the way in which tis function turns itself off!
