Stop dictate from turning off in Word 365

Is there any way that we can prevent dictate to turn off (or at least extend the time that it stays on) in Word 365? I'd really like for it not to stop listening while I'm thinking about what to say.

    I cannot believe why this issue has not been resolved. Nor are any of the reports on here answered.  The auto turn off after a short time renders the tool useless. Huge disappointment.

    Hey Ivy, I think you misunderstood the question and the problem. Dictate function turns itself off after a few seconds, which is very inconvenient for the user. Id like it to stay on until i choose to switch it off. Please address this

    Same as others... totally useless function.  I need to check software outputs, dictate notes, back to software, more notes, etc.  I have to use the keyboard while dictating and it shuts off every time I touch the keyboard.  Can't use it at all.  And I agree with others... don't call it a feature when it's just something the developers guessed badly on.  Please fix this!

    This is a  bad design feature. Often, a person needs to gather their thoughts before speaking. Okay for the automatic shut off of the microphone to be  the default position, but a user needs an option to override it.

    Please don't send a link for how to comment on Word features. There are enough comments here to let Microsoft know these needs to be fixed.

    Also having the issue of it turning off in the middle of a sentence.

    I hadn't used it before today but I know others have and it worked fine for them.

    Hoping there is a fix soon!
