High CPU Usage on macOS Catalina.... This is very annoying!

Hey guys,

I've been feeling very frustrated about OneDrive:

Ever since I've switched to Catalina on my MBP 15", OneDrive keeps spinning up a bunch of processes called "OneDrive Finder Integration", about 5-6 of them and then Finder goes over 130% along with another system-level process. Needless to say, this kicks up the fans to the full speed and, if running on battery, chews up through so much of the battery. The only other way around this is to pause the app which defeats the whole point of having a "cloud" backup. I've looked around, run a bunch of scripts suggested, uninstalled, reset and then reinstalled the app with no success. Can someone help me with this?

BTW, why can't I check my Preferences (where the version number is accessible) when OneDrive is paused?!!! this is just poor planning as far as I'm concerned!

    FYI, the app again went on full throttle on me for 30 mins... processing "300" changes... I didn't even know I had that many files or processes going on! The folder OneDrive syncs has only data files and I have 4-5 of the files open... FIX IT PLEASE

    That's exactly what it does to me and everyone I know that uses OneDrive.  My only saving grace is this new MacBook M1.  It has no issues gobbling up the wasted CPU cycles.

    This is getting ridiculous! I've not updated any files in a while and yet the OneDrive app is running full throttle kicking in the fans.... Why are we being ignored here? Clearly, MS has issues with this app...

    here's a mere suggestion for the MS folks:

    Rather than focusing on beating Slack and Zoom like an insecure teenager, focus on CORE product that you charge us for...

    I have the same issue.... again!

    My OneDrive keeps going to 100% even though I'm not performing any changes to the files under OneDrive....

    I know... The slightest change to any of your open documents causes high CPU utilization as it--for some crazy reason--decides to sync up hundreds of files again.
