Office 2007 Validation Error "0x80240023"

Greetings,

I own Office 2007.  I realize that support is no longer provided for this version of office.  I am not interested in Office 365, and see no value in upgrading.  I paid for my license, and I would like to be able to continue working with it. 

I recently refreshed my Windows10 installation, and of course Office was one of the apps that did not persist.  When I try to do Windows Update, I receive error "0x80240023" because the download page is no longer valid.

How do I clear this error in Windows Update so that I can at least have the last patches available for my Office install?

Review the win update settings to remove the Office update, though it should not have been present in the first place.

You wont have any Office 2007 updates as they were removed from MS Site in late 2014 when 2007 went out of support, so your Office install will be as per that installed version file/cd date

    Dear everyone!

    At the time I bought the 2007 version I have been using it ever since. OK for me. But do I have the right to use my purchased product? Before my eyes, my pdf editor was rewritten by Edge to a pdf viewer. I haven't used Edge since.

    I purchased Office 2019, unfortunately it could not be activated, so I returned it.

    I am now using the 2007 version for as long as I can because I have no confidence in the new program.

    This answer is wrong.

    I'm installing Office 2007 onto an old PC and the various updates are available and were downloading and installing just fine until I hit the file validation error.  In addition, I have tried the recommended steps to remove just that one update and the option doesn't appear anywhere I can find.

    It doesn't matter how many times I restart my PC, I get an error in Windows Update, so it appears Microsoft needs to properly fix this issue or at least remove the update so i doesn't appear.

    Perhaps, Widows 20H2 has been changed in this area.  For now though, my new PC won't install the subsequent updates that are available.

    This issue has been all but beaten to death!!!

    Stop with all the work arounds!!

    All you have to do is wait about 6 to 24 hours with the computer turned on, and this error will clear itself because the problem update will finally install.  That is all you need to do. JUST WAIT

    The speculation is that some Microsoft server only services this out of support software a few times a day, so your computer needs to wait for the MS server to service the Office update's request.  But no one seems to know for certain.

    This statement is completely untrue.

    Microsoft Office 2007 updates are still available from Microsoft and are installed through Windows Update. Just be sure that Windows Update is set to install updates for Windows and other Microsoft products
