How do I stop TEAMS from launch into full screen? It just started doing this.

I'm on version 1.3.00.33671. It was last updated on 18/03/2021. And it still has the problem.
Updated to 1.4.00.4971 to no avail :(
I had this issue too, I tried different things that did not work (completely uninstalling Teams, downgrading to version 1.3, disabling video acceleration… and so on).
But, the latest version 1.4.00.6270 seems to be back to a normal behavior. I'm not sure this version is publicly available, as I have enabled the developer previews in Teams settings, but you should give it a try because it fixed the problem for me.

Yesterday I download from Microsoft website the Teams app again.
After installed, the version changed to 1.4.00.4971, but the update date keep the same, January 19th.
The error still happens.

Same here. No rhyme or reason to the full-screen takeover. Just randomly does it.
We've only just started using Teams as a company so I can't speak to the longevity of the issue, except that it's been doing it for at least a month for me.
I'm on a Mac Pro (Late 2013) running Big Sur 11.2.2 (about to update to 11.2.3) and Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.4971. It was last updated on 3/3/21.
