Microsoft Teams JavaScript error occured in the main process error

Hi

I got the same issue, the OS can never be the issue as I have another computer with win7 and it runs Teams perfectly, but not on the other machine.

As far as I know, Teams is supported on Windows 8.1 or later. As you are using Windows 7, this is why it does not work. For more related information, you can refer to the following articles:

From the screenshot, the error states that it cannot find the specified module native-utils.node. Would you please go to the following location to confirm whether the file is there? C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\current\resources\app.asar.unpacked\node_modules\native-utils\build\Release

If the file is not there, a re-install of the Microsoft Teams application should resolve this issue. If the issue persists after re-installation, would you please share the following information with us for further investigation?

1.       Where did you download the teams installer?

2.       Is your Windows version up to date?

3.       Use the System File Checker tool to check whether there is any missing or corrupted system files on your computer. Refer to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

Dear Team,

i am facing the same error, and my windows version is windows 10. my windows version is upto date. downloaded from Microsoft downloads location.

Teams_windows_x64.exe was downloaded(https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/download-app#desktopAppDownloadregion) while installing facing the same issue.

i have also deleted the teams folder from  AppData\Local\Microsoft and tried to install once again but still facing the same issue.

Kindly help on this.

In my case, this happened after I enabled "Ransomware Protection". My Teams is not working anymore and prompts this message. I uninstalled TEAMS, switched off the Ransomware protection and try to reinstall. Installation fails with this the same message.

I followed each solution offered here like cleaning of Teams folder in App but still, no success.

I even tried copying the said folder from a working Teams in other PC but still it fails.

Please help. :)

I am also experiencing this issue on two user devices. Same error message referencing native-utils.node.

• Windows 10 1709
• Tried clearing all Teams folders from user profiles and downloading freshly downloaded installer, same issue
• Tried installing using enterprise MSI and running installer from program files, same issue
• Teams runs without this issue on hundreds of other devices with identical builds
