Updating office and getting an error message (Office for Windows)

I have tried to open a word / excel document. 

It says it is updating, please wait a moment. 

After a few minutes I get a message saying: 

WINWORD.EXE - Application Error - This application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application.

    Hi Cindy 

    This seems to be a recurring problem this week for many users, follow these steps to perform a full repair of your Office installation . . .

    Open Control Panel - Programs and Features

    Click Microsoft Office in the list of installed applications

    At the top, click 'Change'

    On the resulting dialog, click 'Repair' - choose the Online Repair, it is a comprehensive fix

    That should fix any issues with your Office Installation . . .

    what a load of ****!!!!

    I "upgraded" to Office 365 on Jan 01, 2021 and not even 2 weeks on it is blowing up.

    Followed these steps exactly and matters went from bad to worse!!!

    Now i get problem with shortcut and the other icons in task bar are blank sheets.

    Are microslop updates now at the point when failure is the new normal????????

    Are the developers so self empowered that it does not matter if their code works????

    Where is QA??????????????????????

    How do i get my money back and revert to Office 2010, which by the way worked for 10 years!!!!

    Do the last windows update and hit repair in programs and features ;) This worked for me today (11-01-2021)
