I currently am working remotely and we use teams to communicate within our office. Teams has given intermittent troubles. It will not allow me to login sometimes. When this happens I have to uninstall and reinstall the application, now that won't work at all. I like to run the teams app on my local computer while using work vpn. Currently using the web app to work. Even an uninstall and reinstall will not work. Please help.

Your program is assuming that the domain is part of the user name. Furthermore your credentials are not standard. The user name field is unused and there are like 16 entries. If you were to follow the standards and not make assumptions about the user's name this problem would go away.
Users can clear this problem by uninstalling Teams, then deleting the files left over, then removing all credentials, then reinstalling it, now I get to log in for the first time. This first time is the only time. So long that I never close or logout it works.
The web also always works.
Pfff, what an annoying problem, after reboot or upgrade of MS Teams, you are not able to login into MS Teams again (while Windows 10, OneDrive, Skype, Outlook ,Office Online, etc etc are all logged in using the same, private, MS account).
None of the separate solutions suggested here did work.........but, it seems that when:
- re-configuring E-mail and Accounts in the W10 Settings (and logout and login, changing passwords, etc, etc) AND
- reinstalling MS Teams (latest version 1.4.00.8872, the "trick" to use an older version, like 1.3.xxxx, did NOT work, NOT able to login, upgrade is required before you can!) AND
- using SOLVING COMPATIBILTY ISSUES when installing (it seems it used Windows 8 compatibility) then finally it works (even without login.......that was already done automatically, and that was a first for me.......normally you have to enter credentials several times to get Teams working....)
Let's see for how long it will work, but for the moment ok.
"Of course" the Outlook Teams Addin is not visible again, and I had to do the "famous" register hack (adding TeamsAddin.FastConnect key, also a very common problem........unbelievable that such an easy thing can not be solved and you have to manually add this key....).
Ok, now copying back the custom backgrounds again (of course they disappear after a re-install, but happily I made a backup) and see how it goes............can really not imagine other Video/Team conference tool ISVs have similar issues, but ok, dominance gives power ............but don't forget ............it also comes with great responsibilities!

It'll ask you to update once you're logged in
Update the app and you're good to go!!!!!!

As this issue happens again and you already tried to reinstall Teams, we assume it’s related to your account.
You can contact IT admin of your organization, let admin to disable your Teams license in Office 365 admin center and enable again to check the result. (For your reference: Manage user access to Microsoft Teams) Moreover, we suggest let admin check whether is related to multi-factor authentication in your organization.
