Hello All,
We believe we have corrected this issue and Stocks are refreshing again. Go to the Data tab in the Ribbon and select "Refresh All". You can verify an update occurred by observing the Last Trade Time field. Please note that depending on our agreement with the Exchange, some instruments will only provide new data after End of Day. See more about our data sources here: https://support.microsoft.com/office/about-the-stocks-financial-data-sources-98a03e23-37f6-4776-beea-c5a6c8e787e6
If you're still experiencing stale data after refreshing, please reply to me with your location, platform, and the ticker symbol/name of the financial instrument that you observe not refreshing.
We also hear your reports around the field "Market Cap" now being missing from the Stocks data. We are investigating this change and hope to have the field re-enabled soon.
Lastly, we apologize for the frustration you feel toward the Stocks data type. We are going to reflect on this outage and digest your feedback, and hope to come up with a system to train customer support how to escalate outages and a surface to alert Status toward resolution.
Thank you,
Kaycee
Thank you for your transparency, Kaycee - and please keep us posted on developments. Whilst the outage is immensely frustrating (especially as my central prices spreadsheet monitors over 300 stocks), knowing you're on the case is comforting. Hope your team can crack it soon.
Best,
Mark
I contacted Refinitiv. Support can be reached at 1-800-738-8377. They have a very long list of products and not knowing the specific product that MS Excel uses (there's no product labeled "Excel Integration for Stocks," I called the general number, then selected option #6 for "Other Products." A person answered. I explained the situation, she understood, put me on hold, then the call dropped (I think she was walking out side).
I called back; took me another 15 minutes to explain the situation to the customer support rep who was more than hesitant to do anything at all, pushing back the issue on MS, even though she didn't even know they were a customer. After several minutes of pleading for some degree of assistance, she finally relented and said she would reach out to the MS Excel integration rep. She agreed to call me back with an update; however, I'm skeptical that will happen.
For what it's worth, I'd suggest anyone who uses this integration as a critical function, should do this:
Call Refinitiv at 800-738-8377
Press Option #6 (Other Products)
Explain that the integration is non-functioning world-wide and across platforms.
The customer service rep won't be jumping to help, but after ten minutes, you can eventually build enough logic (i.e., what do I have to do...I've contacted MS and they said to contact you...help me...etc.) to get them to report the issue internally and/or contact the MS Excel integration rep.
So far I've had 40+ hours of down time and spent 2 hours making phone calls and searching the web for answers.
