Cannot Verify Server Identity. The identity of @outlook.office365.com@ cannot be verified.

I have this message appearing on my iPad every 20 seconds or so.  I use an Office365 exchange account to sync email, contacts and calendar onto the iPad and also use Onedrive for storage along with Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.

I have had periods of tim when this error message appears, but usually only for 24 hours max.  If it is for a prolonged period, I found that deleting the Exchange account from the iPad and setting it up again often cured the problem.

This time it has been going on for weeks, with no let-up.  I have deleted and set the account up again twice, to no avail.  Please help it's driving me bonkers.

    The problem has gotten much worse. The message was popping up a few times and then would go away for awhile. Now, it’s popping up every few seconds endlessly. The current fixes are not working and I need the fix to work with aliases as well as the main mailboxes/emails. Mircosoft needs to respond. 

    I bit the bullet and switched to the Outlook iOS app.  Super simple setup for aliases / shared mailboxes, and no errors. I don’t see a downside to giving up on native iOS Mail app...Outlook works great!

    Some of our users are having this too on their iPhones with their Office365 / Exchange Online accounts. As i'd rather not reconfigure 100 email accounts on 100 iPhones i do think there must be some explanation from Microsoft and/or Apple about this...

    Message has returned. Thought it was fixed. Continuing to pop up on iPhone and iPad.

    Microsoft and Apple, please fix this.  Permanently turning off SSL is not a secure solution.  What went wrong?

    I too am having the same problem on my iphone 11.  I just flew to another state and that's when it started happening, so I thought it was something to do with the server etc.  Now that I'm back home, it's flipping up constantly.  My mail still comes through, but not sure how well as I have noticed some mail come through on my laptop that doesn't come through on my phone and visa versa. 

    Is there no solution to this?

    I’m having the same issue on my iPhone 10. I was using the outlook app for mail but have deleted it and using the browser version but still fetting the error, probably because i use outlook as my primary contacts and have other office365 apps installed. 

    I’m guessing it has to do with the two recent iOs updates that i’ve installed since that seems to correlate with the timing of the error messages starting. Alrhiugh i was having trouble with Outlook mail not receiving mail on my Surface Pro 7 last week using the browser version so it could be a server level issue with Microsoft.

    Whatever it is, it sucks and affects productivity dramatically.
