Cannot enable OneDrive 'Camera Upload'

Hello,

I want to free up space on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.

When I try to enable 'Free up space on the device' in the OneDrive app, I get the message:

'Camera upload must be enabled ...'

The problem is that there is no camera upload setting anymore.

Or am I missing something here ...?

I use the latest version of Android and version 6.1.1 of OneDrive.

Thanks!

I have done all of these steps, multiple times, and my "Camera Upload" option WILL NOT re-appear.

This is on a new S20 Note Ultra

I think when you sync your Google cloud it does this. Idk why but I know my camera upload was working just fine until I synced the two

Thanks @ChrisBuxton1  I was frustrated by my camera roll no longer syncing with OneDrive.  I hate when these things that I rely on inexplicably stop working.  Now that you've given me the solution to fixing my issue, I do recall that after a recent update there was some vague dialog box about Samsung backup and OneDrive.  I must have approved the change without understanding the ramifications.  Good news is that by following your advice I've got my photos syncing with OneDrive again.  THANK YOU!

I've just figured out a fix for this issue eventually. Follow these steps and it should work:

    • Go to your phone settings app
    • Accounts and Backup
    • Accounts
    • Find your OneDrive account
    • Sync Account
    • Turn on Media Storage

Now you should be able to go into the OneDrive app and your gallery will be uploading and the "free up space on device" button will no longer be greyed out and automatically turned on.

    Hope this helps
