Cannot enable OneDrive 'Camera Upload'

After removing my Samsung account from Onedrive, camera upload was still unavailable. Only gallery sync. Frustrating. However, Yaaaayyyyy !!! This helped tremendously !!! Removing my Samsung account from my phone worked perfectly. Just recreated it. I also uninstalled Onedrive and reinstalled after removing my Samsung account from my phone. Camera upload is  now back in Onedrive. Woo Hoo !!!

Connecting Samsung gallery to Onedrive was a nightmare. Way too involved. Deleting photos from one deletes from the other, no camera upload to my pictures folder, etc., etc. I was always using Onedrive for photo storage and I liked things just the way they were.

All due respect, Renzo, but you did NOT address the poster's issue at all. All subsequent responses from other customers demonstrate that fact. Please forward this issue to technical support/engineers to be fixed.

Technically he did, although as a statement lacking necessary substance, typical for the overly polite unnecessarily repetitive canned replies provided by what experience has proven to be generally inept off-shore support people purporting to represent MS on this site.  I am certainly more firmly planted in your 'with due respect' camp than not. 

The key was the line "Camera Upload can only be used on one account at a time".  But per usual, the ms rep just splayed the words without seeming to actually care their meaning was clear, or to explain the means to ensure that the *one* account was the Onedrive account, per the OPs actual question.  I managed answer thousands and thousands of questions over 20+ years on newsgroup forums, and find it sadly amazing the people MS now call their community reps can barely string a sentence together, let alone think independently of the canned responses.  But I fear I have digressed somewhat.  

Go to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=868284 and next to Samsung logo Samsung account, select Remove.  Then disable Samsung Gallery on the phone, and you can open Onedrive and the option to upload photos should be there, about third item down the settings page as I recall.  The scoop is from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/samsung-gallery-and-onedrive-99c4e77b-8e63-4ddc-aede-19f81acee1a3

Either MS or Samsung should really clearly state that "Activating Samsung Gallery will disable the ability for Onedrive to monitor new phots and upload them to the Onedrive Camera Roll.  Your Samsung Gallery photos will be placed in different Onedrive folder."

I was able to turn off the Samsung in the "Manage My Apps" section of my Windows account.

The OneDrive Camera Upload option returned!

I thought all was well. BUT ... my photos have still not uploaded/synced to my camera roll. To clarify, a few photos from today synced, but those that haven't synced since July are still not appearing in my camera roll.

What do I need to do now? 

Current Settings: Camera Upload (on) > Using WiFi (which I am on right now). 

I don't have it set to upload only when charging. I have a full battery.

I really want to have my camera roll automatically update like it used to. I realize I took that for granted.

They will only sync if they are shown in the "Camera" folder on your phone. If you remove them from that "Camera" folder they cannot sync with the "Camera Roll" folder on your computer.

However, if you choose to use Samsung Gallery (which I have now decided to do) you then get a copy of all your photos that are on your phone onto your computer in the Samsung Gallery folder under "Pictures" on your Windows 10 computer.
