Cannot enable OneDrive 'Camera Upload'

Hello,

I want to free up space on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.

When I try to enable 'Free up space on the device' in the OneDrive app, I get the message:

'Camera upload must be enabled ...'

The problem is that there is no camera upload setting anymore.

Or am I missing something here ...?

I use the latest version of Android and version 6.1.1 of OneDrive.

Thanks!

All due respect, Renzo, but you did NOT address the poster's issue at all. All subsequent responses from other customers demonstrate that fact. Please forward this issue to technical support/engineers to be fixed.

    Thank you,

Frustrated by the same issue 😤😠😡

After removing my Samsung account from Onedrive, camera upload was still unavailable. Only gallery sync. Frustrating. However, Yaaaayyyyy !!! This helped tremendously !!! Removing my Samsung account from my phone worked perfectly. Just recreated it. I also uninstalled Onedrive and reinstalled after removing my Samsung account from my phone. Camera upload is  now back in Onedrive. Woo Hoo !!!

Connecting Samsung gallery to Onedrive was a nightmare. Way too involved. Deleting photos from one deletes from the other, no camera upload to my pictures folder, etc., etc. I was always using Onedrive for photo storage and I liked things just the way they were.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you !!!

Dude .. the issue is not OneDrive.  The issue is Samsung.  If you activate the Samsung backup service for photos it removes OneDrive's upload and the ability to turn it on.  (Technically Samsung is now doing a backup to the Samsung folder in OneDrive, so having OneDrive do the same is just creating redundant files).

Solution is don't activate Samsung Gallery..  Turn it off and on the Microsoft account page revoke access to it, and the option to upload photos in OneDrive settings will reappear.  Right near the top of the settings.  PITA to find the issue, easy to fix.

I understand your frustration Jamie S Reich, but I have to admit that I love OneDrive.

The issue we are discussing here must have something to do with Samsung's system and its relationship with OneDrive. Samsung Gallery will now back-up ALL of your photos to OneDrive and these photos can be seen in the folder marked Samsung Gallery in OneDrive. However it means that Camera Upload button will disappear.

Media Sync for some reason will not stay on and so only works for a short time but this is nothing to do with OneDrive it must be to do with the Android system or maybe Samsung.

So in summary, all photos rather than just new ones will automatically be backed up to OneDrive and appear in the Samsung Gallery folder in OneDrive. The other difference is that when you delete photos from Samsung Gallery they will also be deleted on your phone, this was not the case before with Camera Upload. So in short, we have the same facility as before, which some would argue is better, it just means that things work slightly differently.

My media sync shows on but the numbers NOR folders match-up. I've deleted folders and let it add again, deleted Microsoft account and added back, made backup folders to see what happens with them AND I've come back to find photos moves around and put back after I've deleted.

Also, sync doesn't stay syncing, says can't sync and sometimes it says sync complete and will show a date more than a month ago.

    I HATE ONEDRIVE!!!

    Jamie
