Office Lens won't upload to Onedrive and stays in Transfering modus

After making a picture in Office Lens, and saving is to Onedrive, more and more files keep transferring, trying to upload. This is not happening all times, but I think it has to do with the internet connection at the moment of saving. Normally, the transferring time is aborted by a time-out, and you can retry to upload the (pdf) file. Most times it works, but now is stays in transfering mode and I cannot access the picture anymore. Please support me.

Sadly, I've given up on Lens since they (Microsoft) can't seem to figure it out.  I'm trying a couple of 3rd party apps to see if they function well (including in the change-network-upload-dies scenarios we've all been encountering).

For now, I'm resisting the urge to dump OneNote and move to Evernote because every. freaking. note. I have is in OneNote.  Has anyone else found a solution that cuts the MS Clown Crew out of the equation?

I apologize for the late reply. To prevent confusion from other community members, who are having the same as the original poster, I will split your concern from this thread. This process will allow other community members to answer your query or provide a workaround if there is any.

It's upsetting that MS puts out what should be a great product for millions of us, Office Lens, and then it does NOT work as advertised. False hopes. False advertising. Upset customers.

    Hi leslie,

I want to ask if you were able to sync or upload pictures to your OneDrive account on your device?

    We'll wait for your response.

    Bob

I ran into this problem as well today. I took some pictures of flipcharts today in a location that has notoriously bad cell coverage. I was not connected to WiFi at the time and was sending them to my work account OneNote.

Now both uploads are just stuck on transferring and the only option I have is to cancel - which will delete the images. I don't want to do this as it would mean I would lose the images.

Ideally, the app would allow a retry which has already been suggested or the ability to change where I am trying to upload it to.

As the only response from Bob seems to be to try and upload to Onedrive - I have done several different scenarios:

    On my home WiFi

    • Upload to work OneDrive - works fine
    • Upload to personal OneDrive - works fine
    • Upload to work OneNote - works fine
    • Upload to personal OneNote - works fine

On a good 4G cellular connection:

    • Upload to work OneDrive - works fine
    • Upload to personal OneDrive - works fine
    • Upload to work OneNote - works fine
    • Upload to personal OneNote - works fine

None of this fixes the two files stuck in transferring.

Also closing the app completely / restarting my phone makes no difference.

This sounds very much like this issue: https://officelens.uservoice.com/forums/289714-office-lens-users/suggestions/9789222-scans-are-stuck-waiting-to-transfer-even-though

Which was originally reported in 2016 which makes me think it's one of those things that's so far down their priorities list it will never get done.

I really have liked the integration Office Lens had to the different Microsoft apps but it might be time to look at using a different app - quite a few of them have solved this by keeping a local copy of the scan so that it can be sent elsewhere later.
