Microsoft To-Do Sync Issues

I've finally made the switch from Wunderlist to Microsoft To-Do, but it hasn't gone as smoothly as I had wanted.
I am signed into three devices using To-Do: Web client in browser, iPhone and iPad.
I have successfully imported all my tasks from Wunderlist to To-Do, but my reminder notifications aren't showing on my iOS devices. They have successfully synced, but the web client is the only device showing reminder notifications. I have tried closing apps and signing out and back in again, to no avail.
After a little experimenting, the notification will only show on the device where I change the reminder notification time. For example, changing the reminder notification time on the web client results in the notification showing only on that device. The same applies to each iOS device.
Not sure if this is a bug or by design, but I rely on these reminder notifications on different devices to get my things done. I simply can't use it without this ability, which worked perfectly on Wunderlist.
Any suggestions as to where I might be going wrong, or simply some general advice would be greatly appreciated.

2020-04-20T14:02:15+00:00 Microsoft has done this same type of behavior before. There was a great little app called Yammer, a private texting app aimed primarily at businesses, that was purchased and subsequently run into the ground. I think they may be afraid of a little competition.
Has Microsoft repsonded to this thread? Wunderlist was so good, intuitively allowing my wife and I to collaborate lists... now frustrating sync issues, notifications take ages. having to text to re-invite my wife onto a list... then it still not appearing on my wife's list. How does Microsoft butcher such an amazingly simple user experience into the most frustrating "let's just ditch this and find a better app" experience? So arrogant not to even reply to customers!!! If you are going to buy an application so that you can take their customers... at least try to keep them! Horrible.
If microsoft won't respond, and are seemingly not reviewing this thread - please feel free to call out any good list alternatives that we can jump to. Thanks :)

2020-04-16T18:04:50+00:00 I shared my to-do list with my wife but she didn't get remainder. then I checked in her list reminder time is not set. remainder time should show in all the invitees. and they should get a reminder notification. when I get at the same time.
