Microsoft To-Do Sync Issues

I've finally made the switch from Wunderlist to Microsoft To-Do, but it hasn't gone as smoothly as I had wanted.

I am signed into three devices using To-Do: Web client in browser, iPhone and iPad.

I have successfully imported all my tasks from Wunderlist to To-Do, but my reminder notifications aren't showing on my iOS devices. They have successfully synced, but the web client is the only device showing reminder notifications. I have tried closing apps and signing out and back in again, to no avail.

After a little experimenting, the notification will only show on the device where I change the reminder notification time. For example, changing the reminder notification time on the web client results in the notification showing only on that device. The same applies to each iOS device.

Not sure if this is a bug or by design, but I rely on these reminder notifications on different devices to get my things done. I simply can't use it without this ability, which worked perfectly on Wunderlist.

Any suggestions as to where I might be going wrong, or simply some general advice would be greatly appreciated.

    So we're coming from Wunderlist as well and use Windows/Android in the house... The To Do lists we share with each other and imported from Wunderlist aren't syncing. One in particular is the grocery list that I got yelled at for not picking up stuff that was on the list. Wunderlist worked so great and we're super mad Microsoft bought them out and we have to deal with this.

    Here is a report of exactly what I did so you guys at Microsoft can track down this severe problem. I am running iOS 13.3.1. The bug is either in the iOS app or it is on the server side. See below. I do not know what would have happened if I logged out from and in to the app before I opened to-do.live.com

    1. Get To-Do app for Mac
    2. Import stuff from Wunderlist on Mac
    3. Get iPhone app
    4. Log in to iPhone app
    5. ERROR: the list names DO show up but the items in the lists DO NOT show up
    6. Go to to-do.live.com
    7. There everything is fine, all items show.
    8. Add an item in a list
    9. This syncs to the Mac App perfectly
    10. ERROR: This does NOT show up on the phone
    11. Sync the Mac App explicitly
    12. ERROR: NO still no items on the phone
    13. Log out of the phone app and log in again.
    14. Now all items show up as they should!
    15. Add an item in to-do.live.com
    16. This new item syncs immediately to the phone too. Fine!

    I suggest you MS people drop what you have at hand and fix this severe bug immediately. You can not recommend people to switch from Wunderlist before this is fixed.

    Hi,

    My sync problem with Microsoft To-Do happened on Windows 10 after an update to 1909. Sync function didn't work suddenly, and I couldn't sign out either. After a lot of effort, I finally fixed it this way:

    1） Open "Apps & features";

    2） Search "To Do";

    3）Click it, then "Advanced options";

    4）Scroll down and find the "Reset" button. Click it;

    5）Then the sync function works again.

    Although this is not relevant for mobile devices, I hope this will be helpful for ones who encounter the same problem like me.

    I have also just discovered this issue (Dec 2020) while trying to sync a Christmas to do list with my wife. 

    On Wunderlist this happened effortlessly, but now we are adding and making amendments and these are not showing up. 

    I have tried logging out and back in, and manually using the sync button in the settings, to no avail. 

    You guys at Microsoft have broken the Wunderlist app and you need to fix it.

    Hi Joe,

    I have had no luck with Microsoft.  Their only suggestion to me was to try the app online, which I had already tried numerous times.  Now, they are not responding to my emails.  This shows me they do not have a fix. 

    I have switched to Zenkit Todo.  I downloaded Wunderlist tasks in seconds amd it looks very similar to Wunderlist. It does cost $3/month, but Microsoft's free app is useless if it doesn't work.
