Excel slicer bug - slicer options are blurry

Hello all,

I've been working with Microsoft support and they're unwilling to assist in this manner, shockingly. However, they suggested I post here on the forum to see if anyone has any answers.

In short, my slicers are blurry. This clearly seems to be a bug, so not sure anyone will have answers, but has anyone experienced this? The slicers are blurry across files, and I've restarted the system. Interestingly, the slicers are not blurry when viewing the same files online. So, this must be a visualization issue within excel itself - not a file issue.

I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling Microsoft Office.

Thoughts anyone?

Morning Jesper,

Thanks for the prompt to check. Interestingly, it's working on my end now. I noticed the other day that Microsoft pushes an update to Excel, and now things are working. Looks like it was a Microsoft thing after all, as things look now. Have you updated?

Since you have re-installed Office a couple of times, you should have the most recent version, so "updating" is not worth suggesting, unless you know for sure that a new version has been released.

Is that screen cap exactly what you see or did you pixelate it for privacy?

    .

It looks like a bad interaction between Excel / slicers and the video driver. Check to see if there is a newer version of the video driver you can install.

    Hi TCCarnuel,

Thanks for sharing sample Excel file via PM.

We open your sample Excel workbook on Excel version 16.33 (20011301) on Mac and after edit some content to make it large or resized slicers its works as expected. See the screenshot via PM of our test with edited some content. You can access PM via this link

To move further, maybe the local settings had affected the application. Thus, we would like you to check whether the issue is related to your user profile. In this situation, we suggest you creating a new user profile on Mac  on your Mac and  see if any improvement. It is worth trying because it will help you narrow down whether the issue is caused by a specific corrupted user profile.

Also, please confirm did you try set up Mac in safe mode and still same behavior occur ?

I appreciate your patience and understanding.

    Regards,

    Waqas Muhammad

    Hi

What version of Office did you uninstall and reinstall?

To see what you eventually wound up with, please go to the Excel menu and choose About Excel. Please reply here with the version that is giving you this result.

    Thanks.

    Hi Waqas,

To confirm, the issue happens across all books, and appears to occur when the slicer is resized to be larger than the default slicer size. The issue is not specific to a particular book, but appears to be a global behavior at this point.

In terms of file format, it's the standard excel file - the default "save as" value when saving a workbook.

I got your private message and will send you sample files.

    Thanks Waqas for your help.
