Word for Mac 16.25 cannot remember window size

I just updated to word for Mac 16.25. Word no longer remembers the sizing of the document, and always opens to a very small window. Never happened before the update.

Hi All,

We have received several reports about the same issue recently. For others to easily identify the information here, I’m summarizing the issue as follows:

Issue description:

After updating to version 16.25 (190512), Word for Mac can no loner remember the window size closed last time. It always opens at a fixed size.

Environment:

Word for Mac version 16.25 (190512) on all three latest version of Mac OS.

Assessment:

We can reproduce the same behavior on our side. And we are reporting the issue to our related team for further investigation. Once there is any update, we will post back as soon as possible. As a workaround, you can open the Word for Mac application first and open the file from the recent list or from the File menu.

    There is only one solution. Don't buy their new releases. You are only buying problems. You can use Word 2016 for at least the coming 15 years and save yourself this kind of nonsense every 3 years.

    There is no functional advantage, only bugs and nonsense. And it takes ages for them to solve anything, IF they even bother or manage.

    I am going back to Office 2016 and will not be "upgrading" anymore.

    Yep...same problem here. And I had such high hopes when I saw the "Updates Available" greet me this morning.

    I'm not sure that a complete reinstall will fix the issue, and I'm not willing to even try. I suspect that this annoyance will eventually get fixed, and other weirdnesses will creep in to take its place.

    High hopes? This is Microsoft. Total disrespect for their users. Typical monopoly. 

    Facts:

    they destroy things without knowing

    they don't notice themselves before release

    Excel has always had the same problem and always will

    they supposedly acknowledged the problem (see the moderators in this thread)

    they tried to solve it and solved it half-baked

    they are known for their many, many problems and their stubbornness for never solving anything. And they don't give a hoot.

    It is also very typical that the moderators are very, very quiet now...

    What do you mean by that? That you cannot uninstall 2019 to install 2016?
