OneNote 2010 all sections and pages are empty! Please help me!

Hi All,

As a continuation of the initial part of this thread. Once Onenote 2010 desktop stopped working for me, I did check online and all my notebooks were still there and as others have experienced, mobile versions link up OK still. I am using Windows 10 build 1903 on one one of the machines and and build 1909 on another, both have the same issue.

The Onenote app, which is part of Windows 10, works fine, all sync with onedrive fine and updates the same notebooks. So as a work around, that is what I am using. The downside is that it lacks features and most importantly, there are no local backups of the notebook. Which is very worrying.

I did tweet this thread to @msonenote and I was told that they would "pass this along to the appropriate folks".

Should we all be collectively making a noise on more tweets also?

Clearly this is a serious situation for many users worldwide and Microsoft do not seem to care.

One more PC  I own, is down. In office this time. Win 7. Same as all the rest.

Onenote standalone application doesnot sync with the (healthy otherwise) web onenote location.

Same problem, Athens, same time with everyone else:

As I was working on Onenote 2010 (win7), my content started vanishing. I ended up with blanc workbooks. Nothing else showed. Neither sections or pages.

I then opened Onenote on two more pcs, one running win10 and one win7.

Same thing.

I checked with my android, no problems there.

So I visited onenote.com. Everything looked fine.

I tried to "open in app" different pages (on the web). No way.

The strangest thing: I have ended up being able to 'upsync' i.e. any new material I create (i.e. a 'new section', in the app) but unable to "downsync' (from  web to the app) anything.

In other words, I cannot get my Onenote app to work, anywhere.

In my win 10 laptop I have done all possible upgrades and also tried "modify" at "Apps and Features".

Nothing seems to work

I have a legal copy of onenote 2010, which suddenly failed me accross various pcs.

Is Microsoft listening ?

Just the standard, not premium, account.  Using around 850 MB of storage. 

One thing I tried was to go into control panel, uninstall programs.  Selected Office 2010 and selected "change".  I removed just OneNote then rebooted the PC.   I did not go looking for any left over OneNote files in "appdata" or any other place.  Went back into Control Panel and back into "change" for Office 2010.  Reinstalled OneNote and rebooted the PC.  No luck.  I might try it again and look for any left over files and delete them.

The second PC with OneNote 2010 is still working this morning.  Makes me think something got cached on the bad PC that won't let OneNote run correctly.

same here - OneNote 14.0.7237 (from Office Prof Plus 2010) on Win 7 Enterprise.... works via browser, but not comfortable

I have the same setup: Windows 7 Enterprise, OneNote 14.0.7237.5000 (32-bit). None of my notebooks will open. I keep getting the following message: "There are no sections open in this notebook or section group".
