Autosave Option Disabled - Office Mac

All my files are saved on OneDrive folder (which is synced). When I open a word file from my OneDrive folder, the option to AutoSave is disabled and I can see a msg "Saved on your Mac". How is that, if it is on Onedrive and syncing ??? I have, then, to save a new copy, select Save Online, chose the SAME FOLDER, chose another name, and then, the Autosave option is enabled. Does anyone know how to solve it?

I found the autosave function of my office 365 works again today.

I did nothing except keeping my office 365 up to date in "insider slow" channel.

mac OS: 10.15.1

onedrive: 19.222.1110.0004(Standalone)

office 365: 16.33(19120401)

    No progress at all?

Do you bother to test your software as the Developer Betas are released? How is Microsoft so late to prepare for new macOS releases every single year?

    Hi All,

We totally understand the frustration caused by this OneDrive issue.

This issue has been officially submitted as a bug and our related product engineer is actively working on it.

Unfortunately, we haven't receive any updates from the engineer side so far.

Will keep you informed once we got any updates on it. Really appreciate for your patience.

    Regards,

    Alex Chen

    Hi Harry,

Thanks for your updates. It's glad to hear that issue has been resolved on your side with the Office for Mac version 16.33.

For all the other members in this thread, if you are still having this AutoSave disable issue on your Mac, please refer to Harry's suggestion, join the insider slow channel and update your Office for Mac to the version 16.33 to check the outcome.

    Let us know the result.

    Regards,

    Alex Chen

Hi, have tried everything. And it still not working for me.

    mac OS: 10.15.1

    onedrive: 19.222.1110.0004(Standalone)

    office 365: 16.33(19120401)

Now I tried to uninstall one drive and reinstall, and check if it will work.

    It is very frustrating.

I also realized that now, with the last updates if I chose to manually save in an online location, the file is taking a lot of time to appears in the local folder.
