Autosave Option Disabled - Office Mac

All my files are saved on OneDrive folder (which is synced). When I open a word file from my OneDrive folder, the option to AutoSave is disabled and I can see a msg "Saved on your Mac". How is that, if it is on Onedrive and syncing ??? I have, then, to save a new copy, select Save Online, chose the SAME FOLDER, chose another name, and then, the Autosave option is enabled. Does anyone know how to solve it?

I found the autosave function of my office 365 works again today.

I did nothing except keeping my office 365 up to date in "insider slow" channel.

mac OS: 10.15.1

onedrive: 19.222.1110.0004(Standalone)

office 365: 16.33(19120401)

    I too think that your bug is not same as the bug @MiltonMarceloAs and I are facing - our files never become read-only - nevertheless, great to hear that your issue has been fixed.

    I have just double-checked.  The bug that @MiltonMarceloAs and I are now reporting remains outstanding.

    Hi,

    I believe you are talking about a different issue.

    The issue I am talking about, which I originally opened the topic has not been solved. I just opened a file directly from a OneDrive folder and the button AutoSave was disabled. When I opened, using Open -> OneDrive and select the file it opens up with the Autosave option enabled.

    Thank you Cliff,

    The issue seems to have resolved itself. Yesterday I created a test document on my MacBook Pro, edited it on my iPad and then on my iMac. No problems.

    Then I opened older documents, that before had the 'read only' message on my iMac and wouldn't autosave. Now they are working just fine.

    I suspect something happened at server level, as the OS, and the versions of OneDrive and Word that were previously affected are now okay. I hope everybody else finds their documents working too.

    I'm glad this issue didn't decent to the old days of a blame game between Microsoft and Apple - let's not go there, please.
