one drive error "your onedrive folder can't be created in the location you selected"

I have this error "your onedrive folder can't be created in the location you selected" I had onedrive working fine on my computer for a long time then over the weekend it stopped working and now I have this error. I have tried the following

  1. Remove Onedrive and reinstall it.
  2. It works on other drives but I want all my Data on my Data drive
  3. I have trie downloading and installing OneDrive to the targeted drive, check if the OneDrive can recognize the drive as a right location. You can have a try to see the result, this I can do but it keeps coming up with the same error
  4. I have right clicked my targeted drive >  properties > Security > and checked that I have the Full control permission of the drive.
  5. Create a new test Windows user profile to see the result.

As the issue persists here is the information below:

  1. I attach a screenshot about the drive property showing the NTFS format and
  2. A screenshot about the error message.

Please let me know how I can fix this

    Hi everyone,

    I've reached out to Office 365 support and they said they're aware of the issue and are working on a solution.  I'll post it here when i get something from them.

    Do we know when MS is going to sort this problem? I've tried everything without joy.

    I totally agree that Microsoft has taken a working and useful program and totally corrupted it.  This is typical with Microsoft products.  I've used One-drive for years and found it a great program but now it is totally useless since in don't have space on my C drive and need it to sync with my D drive.  

    MICROSOFT, why do you do these things?  Can you imagine Apple doing disgusting things like this?    Don't you bother to test these things?  Where is your pride in craftsmanship?  This is a pretty egregious error on your part as I suspect a large number of users need to use a non C drive to hold the data.  

    They have introduced the Personal Vault feature to put your important paper in but do does anyone TRUST Microsoft to do this?

    When it comes to user experience MS really has no clue. It has been two weeks and yet no word on updates or solutions to this problem. I mean what is the point?

    Google and apple would never make school boy errors like these

    I had the same problem this morning.

    Thank you for your post. 

    I tried to update my OneDrive client to Insiders-Ring. There is a checkbox for that under the About tab in the OneDrive settings.

    Now I've version 19.222.1110.0004 (Germany). That version seems to solve the problem for me.

    However for this version, there aren't any changelogs so I think the version was just released recently:

    Thanks for the update. Good to know MS has addressed that issue and will hopefully be included in a stable release. For me, downgrading to 19.086.0502.0010 and preventing any updates solved the problem.

    Bumping this one!

    It's been weeks and I still can't access my proper OneDrive folder.

    Please Microsoft get back to us on how to fix this as fast as possible.

    Not only does this service cost me money but it hiders me in my work.

    Just to be clear yet again, I do not want to create a new folder, I simply want OneDrive to recognize the one I already have!
