one drive error "your onedrive folder can't be created in the location you selected"

I have this error "your onedrive folder can't be created in the location you selected" I had onedrive working fine on my computer for a long time then over the weekend it stopped working and now I have this error. I have tried the following

  1. Remove Onedrive and reinstall it.
  2. It works on other drives but I want all my Data on my Data drive
  3. I have trie downloading and installing OneDrive to the targeted drive, check if the OneDrive can recognize the drive as a right location. You can have a try to see the result, this I can do but it keeps coming up with the same error
  4. I have right clicked my targeted drive >  properties > Security > and checked that I have the Full control permission of the drive.
  5. Create a new test Windows user profile to see the result.

As the issue persists here is the information below:

  1. I attach a screenshot about the drive property showing the NTFS format and
  2. A screenshot about the error message.

Please let me know how I can fix this

    Thanks for participating in the Microsoft Community. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll help you.

    First, is not recommend to sync in a portable device, you shouldn't use Usb drive to sync Onedrive.

    Let's try to re-install Onedrive client:

    Do you know how work with the "Regedit"?

    This a little bit complicate, but I think that no to much...

    So, with the keys combinations (Windows + R), you'll open the "Run" windows, then type regedit.

    We need to find Onedrive folder and delete.

    you will find it in this path:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\

    Expand Microsoft folder click on the "arrow", inside you'll see the Onedrive folder, click with "Right-Click" over Onedrive folder and delete all.

    This process only remove Onedrive configuration, the data will be fine.

    After, uninstall Onedrive from Control Panel and re-install again with the file that you'll download in this official Microsoft Support:

    Download the last Production Ring versión: 19.174.0902.0013 and install it.

    Finally, It is possible that you need to put your credentials again, then when you select the folder for Onedrive (use E: location ), maybe will appears a message that says "This folder already has information/data", so, in the same way, select that location and accept.
