    To reiterate a solution I found somewhere deep in this thread I too was receiving the Microsoft Office error  0x426-0x0.

    The fix was as simple as firing up "services.msc" searching for Microsoft Click-to-Run service and ensuring it was started.  (Mine was disabled somehow so I set it back to Automatic).  Things started functioning from that point without even a reboot.  Subsequent restarts seem to confirm this fix works

    I fixed this issue by enabling and running the service Office Click-to-Run. Without this one Office 2019 Standard won't start.

    I"Microsoft Office Click-to Run Service" enable & run service.  solved my problem. Thanks.
